Social Narrative

At Dogwood Northeast, parking is located at the front of the building (south of the building) with additional parking located on the east side of the building. There are two designated accessibility parking spaces at the front of the building near the accessibility ramp. There is a bike rack between the accessibility ramp and the tether ball pole for bike storage. If you find you forgot a bike lock, our baristas have access to a couple of extra bike locks that we would be happy to lend you while you are spending time in the cafe.

The front entrance is on the south side of the building. A neon arrow (pointing down) is located above the cafe door. When you enter the building you will see a glass wall art installation to your right and the cafe to your left. To get to the register, continue walking past the cafe bar. The register is located across from the grab-and-go fridge, which is next to our coffee and merchandise shelf. In our grab-and-go fridge, you will find sandwiches, salads, yogurt parfaits, hard boiled eggs, and a variety of bottled and canned beverages, and juices. You can pick any of these up and bring them to the register to order. Our beverage menu is located on the wall to the right of the register; we also offer pastries, chips, oatmeal, stickers, and a rotating pour-over coffee and tea menu at the register. If you have any questions about our menu, please ask the staff member working at the register. After you order at the register, please wait while your beverage is being prepared; when it is ready, your name will be called, and your drink will be placed at the opposite end of the bar in between the espresso machine and our water dispenser. If you would like some water, we have cups sitting beside the dispenser for you to use. If you placed an online beverage order, you can pick up your order to the left of the accessibility bar which is next to the water dispenser.

Our cafe has a variety of hard and soft seating along with a ping pong room where you are welcome to challenge friends and opponents to a friendly (or not so friendly) competition. There is some bar seating along with additional wheelchair accessible bar seating at this cafe. Our bathrooms are single use and are located just past the register, to the left, on the other side of the wall that displays our menu. Our larger restroom is made for accessibility needs and has an access switch to the right of the door. This restroom also has a baby changing table. If either of these bathrooms are currently in use you can find additional restrooms through the double doors past the register. Head through the double doors, down the hall and turn left. The restrooms are located just around the corner. 

Bus bins, compost, recycling, and a trash can be found in between the cafe’s front door and the garage doors. You can also find silverware, sugar, and napkins at this bussing station. All of our cups, lids, straws, napkins, and sleeves are compostable.

Our roastery is located on the other side of the glass wall art installation across from the cafe bar.
