Futurist = an intentional space created to allow and engage Dogwood’s collective imagination. The name Futurist has evolved over the years for Dogwood; exploring different coffees that push the boundaries. This coffee uses a washed fermentation method that imparts a unique fruit forward flavor profile. 

This coffee from Carolina Ramirez is a Castillo and Caturra variety. The cherries are harvested when ripe, hand-selected, and left in an open steel tank for 140 hours while filtering and pouring the coffee juice over the cherries twice a day, every day. It is then depulped and left to sun dry in open patios for three weeks. This effort pays off with its subtle notes of red fruits, caramel, and cocoa, combined with a very juicy body. 

Carolina's farm is half a coffee plantation and the other half a nature reserve.  Carolina and her mother Victoria manage the farm inherited to them by her father. Brownie is Carolina's first experimental process and resulted in one of the best coffees she's ever produced. We are so lucky to get a taste the result! 
Experimental brownie coffee processes focus on maximizing flavor extraction through long-term fermentation resulting in a rich chocolatey, brownie like flavor profile.
